Product Workflow in Detail

During the life cycle of a credential, there are a few states that the credential can be in.

Initialized: The credential has been created. It will now show in the Approve for Production tab. You can move this credential into an In Production state to Print it. If you want to delete the credential, you can do so through the Approve for Production tab.

In Production: Now the credential is waiting to be printed. The credential will show in the Print tab. When you log into Press, you will now be able to print the credential. If you are using HID Fargo Connect, you can print directly from the Print tab. You can only move the credential back to an Initialized state by using the API.

Printed: The credential has been printed. It will now show in the Approve for Issuance tab. You can Approve the credential to move it to the Approved state, or you can Disapprove the credential to move it back to the In Production state, so that you can reprint it.

Approved: The credential is now approved. It will show in the Activate tab. You can now mark the credential as activated.

Activated: The credential is activated. It will no longer show in the Production screen. You can move the credential between the expired state and activated state by modifying the end date of the credential. The credential can also be moved between the blocked and activated state by editing the credential in controller, or by the stand user marking it as lost through Stand.

Blocked: Credentials indicated as blocked can be managed through the Credential tab under that Persons record in the People screen.

Expired: Credentials indicated as expired can be managed through the Credential tab under the Persons record in the People screen.

Withdrawn: When a record is archived, and it contains a credential that is in the Initialized, In Production, Printed, or Approved state, it will be indicated as Withdrawn. There is no way to move the credential to any other state at this point, and you should create a new credential if needed.
