Bridge Settings

In the Settings window, you will be able to define certain settings around how and when Bridge will run.

It is important to note that you can select different settings for each of the databases that you are using with Bridge. Make sure that you select each of your databases from the dropdown box at the top, and set each of your required settings for each database.

Update Options

The update existing records option will allow you to push updates that are made to your local data source to the existing record in the cloud. This setting, for example, if your local database has an updated Last name field, will update that in the respective person in cloud that has already been imported from Bridge.

Record Options

The orgin value is a field that is visible on the Person Overview screen in Controller.

Bridge uses this value as a way to determine whether a record was imported from that particular data source. Once you have set this value, if you change it, then bridge will not be able to find any of the existing records and will import a new set of records. Set this value correctly for your first run and do not change it. If you need to resetup bridge for whatever reason, be sure to use the same Origin value as you did previously to avoid duplicate records.

It is also important to note, if you are using multiple databases in one Bridge sync, that you use different Origin values for each of your databases. Do not use the same value for 2 different data sources, or the import will not work as expected.

Archive Options

  • Archive Existing Records: If you would like to Archive records that are removed from your local data source
  • Block Active Cards: When a record is archived, select this option if you would like it to also block their Active card. Take a look at the Production Workflow if you want to know more about the flow of cards and their respective block status.
  • Restore Archive Records: Use this option if you want the system to restore an archived record when the person is added back to the local datasource.

Schedule

The schedule section is used to define when you would like for Bridge to run. Do note that if you are doing large imports, this can take quite a bit of time. It is recommended to run large import once a day at a particular time. Setting the import to a time frame that is too small can result in the Bridge service not running correctly, as it will be trying to run a second instance when it is still completing the first.
