As Mike said, the idea of CardExchange Producer is that all your templates are access by selecting them from within the application itself.
They all appear in a list of cards that you just need to click on, it is not the same as opening a word document for example as not everything is stored in the ced file.
Do you have a backup of your Data folder that you were using before?
All the configuration etc... is stored here, so you should just be able to remove the default data folder on the new PC and copy in the backup data folder in the same location. Now when loading CardExchange it should load as it did before.

Can you explain how you are trying to access the template, are you trying to click on the card template .CED file itself to initiate CardExchange to open and use it? Everything should be done within that application so if you are clicking on the .CED file externally this will not work properly so we need to get the template back into a usable state within that application itself. What version of CardExchange are you using?
Given this is a NEW installation it doesn't sound like the previous DATA folder was migrated properly. There should be no searching externally of the application for older template files. Take a look at the attached PC migration help file and if you still have access to the OLD DATA folder you may want to migrate over that DATA properly to use it and the contents of it for proper DATA migration to utilize the old template files.
I was wondering what the minimum version of Card Exchange Premium is compatible (If any) with Windows 10?
We have a user that has moved over to Windows 10 and has had the version 9 of Card Exchange Premium installed, but we appear to be having issues.
One of these issues is that, if we browse to a folder on the machine itself, containing one of the card designs, when we select to open it, it will open a new instance of Card Exchange (even if one is already open) but then won't display the card at all - all the panes that should display information, are blank.
He also advises on the previous laptop, when in Card Exchange he could see a list of all the previous cards he has worked on, but since the new install, this is blank? Could this be because it is not pointing at the correct database?
